Description of Tool or App
Visual poet is an app designed at allowing individuals to be creative combining two typologies of media: words and images. The app itself is black with diagonal lines and three, white, connected, square panels in the middle. The design of the app correlates with some good design elements. It provides a black background with white and gray features. The text is centered; however it is fairly small in the image boxes. There are three panels which allow the user to fill with pictures, either taken from a personal photo library or from services like Flickr, Tumblr, or Google. Depending on the service, users are able to browse by terms, or they may choose to specify from which you want to get the photos. Once the preferences are defined, users choose to either be redirected to their library or to a screen where images from one of the external services are being loaded. After the image is chosen, users can select a square area from it that they want to appear on their visual poetry file. After that process, users can add their own text, which is displayed in a magnet poetry style. Text can be enlarged or decreased in size. All panels have to be completed before a project can be saved. The completed product can then be shared through email or posted on tumblr.
